The Group 1 Railway Stakes will take place at Ascot Racecourse in Perth on Saturday November 24, 2012.
Run over a distance of 1,600 metres, the 2012 Railway Stakes is worth $1,000,000 in prize money.
The 2012 Railway Stakes is open to horses aged three-years-old and upwards and is run under quality handicap conditions.
The race is the richest on the Perth Summer Racing Carnival program and attracts some of the country’s best milers each year.
Last year’s race was won by Luckygray on protest over He’s Remarkable in a controversial decision by the track’s stewards.
Luckygray has won ten of his 13 race starts and has earned more than $1.13 million in prize money during his career.
Online betting will become available on the Railway Stakes 2012 closer to the race date.
